Thing 12

After looking at each of Google tools, choose two of them to explore further. Try setting up an alert, calendar, notebook, picasa album or iGoogle page and using it. If sharing is an option for the tools you choose, make them public. Blog about your experience with both tools and include a link to your creation. Be sure and include possible educational uses.
The tools can be very helpful in my classroom. This can bring in the technology factor for my students. It will allow them to set up their own calendar so they can put in pertinent dates, e.g events at school, homework assignments, and other events that are very important to them. I would use the alerts on my blogspot to let parents know when assignments are approaching its due date.

  1. Hi Shavonne- I love your avatar! Too cute! I agree that the calendar feature is great for students to try keep everything organized. I have found that if I give students a chance to use technology, they love it and use it. Hopefully, this would help cut down on the number of late assignments. I like the idea of the blog to communicate with parents. I don't know if it would work at with the parents of my students. This year has not been a good year for parents to be involved with their child's educations. How is parent involvement at your school currently?

  3. I agree, it seems that some school years go better than others as far as parent involvement in the schools. I wish I did a better job for my own children, but it's hard when I am at school myself and can't get to their school during school hours.
