I think the 23 things came from the 43 things at www.43things.com.There were lots of "23 things" listed when I searched for it. A couple of the addresses I found are plcmc12-things.blogspot.com and resa-23things.blogspot.com.
I know now how to quote things from Creative Commons , but how many others out thee are not being as wise as myself!

Summary
What were your favorite discoveries or exercises on this learning journey?
My favorite discoveries an exercises were Flickr, creating calendars, Animoto, and facebok. I could definitely see myself using each one of these programs in my classroom.I thought creating the blog itself and the avatar was really cool as well. These exercises have truly brought me up to par with current technology trends.
How has this program affected your lifelong learning goals?
This program has truly affected my lifelong goals because I am very interested in learning lots of cool technology things I can use in my class. Doing these various exercises has taken me down a road that I would have never imagined traveling!
Were there any take-a-ways or unexpected outcomes from this program that surprised you?
Of course there were. I would have never imagined that you can do so easy things that make powerful statements with the gadgets that I have tinkered with for the past two weeks.
What could we do differently to improve upon this program’s format or concept?
This was a great deal of work and it took a lot of time o complete. My only suggestion would be to break it up into a semester worth of work verses a couple of weeks. I also think everyone should had to participate in it just so we could view their points s well.
How will what you have learned influence your practice as a teacher?
What have learned will impact they way I view technology in the classroom. Technology is a very powerful tool and we must prepare our students on how to use it and use it well. Must stay current on the lingo and know the technology terms that our students are referring to.
How do you plan to keep up with new developments in web 2.0? Recommend a way that you have found to be useful.
I plan to keep my blog and utilize it to the fullest. Talking to my peers and discussing ways to use technology is going to be my first step to success.
2. Where do you go from here?
Keep exploring, learning, and seeking knowledge to fulfill my personal goal to be a lifelong leaner.

Commenting on other blogs is the key to the blogs being so successful. The world is becoming more and more technology driven.Communication through technology is becoming increasingly powerful as well.
When creatig a blog and commenting on blog, it is very crucial that you invite comments and as questions so that your followers feel a sense of connection with you. The seven blogs chose to comment on were Onita Walker, Roger Taylor, Mary McGown, Selene Wang, Katherine Gott, Jill Blankenship, and Sarah Sanford because I was iteresting in seeing what their animoto videos look like because that was one of the best exercises in the 23 things.
The articles also discussed ways why commenting is important-power of words and to make meaningful comments have been proven to help make blogging feel like a learning community and great interactions.

Create your own video slideshow at animoto.com.
Oh my gosh!! This is the coolest thing that we have done on the 23 things. I could definitely see myself using this tool as a end of the year slideshow of all the things that we have done in the class. If there is nothing else I use from this class which seriously doubt, I will be using animoto many, many more times.
Thing 20
Create a blog post about your experience. What did you like or dislike about the site and why did you choose the video that you did? Can you see any features or components of the site that might be interesting if they were applied to your library website?
I loved this website. It has a variety of videos that can give ou very informative information. I did not like how people could put videos on there that were rather vulgar. The video that I chose was one that would be inspirational to my students. Some of the students are ready to give up so easily and this video would be played to keep the on track. I could also see may components this site applied to our library website.

Thing 19
Are you a member of any online communities?
Yes, I am currently a member of facebook and teacherpop.
Are any of these social networks appealing to you?
The only social network that appealed to me was teacherpop. This one appealed to me because I am always seeking ways from my peers to help me improve student achievement. I didn't like any others and one other reason is that these social networks can consume ALOT of your time. They are addictive.

Which site had the most useful features? Can you see a classroom or school application for any of these sites?
Facebook would be the helpful site and I could definitely see it being used in a classroom for numerous things, but I still view both of them as mostly social sites. This is my URL for my profile page on facebook:

Wikis are pretty cool to use. This way you can collaborate with numerous people at the same time. It was very interesting when watching the video and how the people use email, but when wikis were derived, it made it so much simpler. I could definitely see myself using wikis to communicate with my parents, colleagues, and my students. This is a cool way I can get ideas and give ideas to our learning community.
Thing 14
In looking at these different flowcharts and mindmaps in the various programs, it was interesting to see all of the resources that we have for our classrooms. These are simply electronic graphic organizers-a way for students too organize their ideas and thoughts. I have found these tools help must students tremendously when wrfiting-even at the first grade level.
Thing 13
Zoho was a really cool site to use. It showed many different fonts and cool features that I could see me and my class using. My students could write stories using various different fonts and making a key so another student in the class could decipher their story!! So cool! I can't wait to play around with site a bit more.

Thing 12
After looking at each of Google tools, choose two of them to explore further. Try setting up an alert, calendar, notebook, picasa album or iGoogle page and using it. If sharing is an option for the tools you choose, make them public. Blog about your experience with both tools and include a link to your creation. Be sure and include possible educational uses.
The tools can be very helpful in my classroom. This can bring in the technology factor for my students. It will allow them to set up their own calendar so they can put in pertinent dates, e.g events at school, homework assignments, and other events that are very important to them. I would use the alerts on my blogspot to let parents know when assignments are approaching its due date.

When I was browsing through these feeds I found educational materials, medical materials, health tips and numerous other topics related to our everyday lives. I also used yahoo and google to locate other newsfeeds?

This particular website could be used in numerous ways in my classroom. I could numerous signs for play areas in my room, station directions for the children to read. As at the beginning of the year, we could sign for things we want to accomplish this school year. We will laminate them and hang them in the classroom.

The most difficult part for me was trying to upload a picture to my blog, but I eventually got it on there. I chose this picture because one of my family vacations this year is going to be at the beach. My six year old son said he was going to do some surfing.

As a was searching through the many, many links and I chose the biznik. The site was social/business networking. To get to this website go to http://biznik.com/ and it is pretty easy to follow. It gives strategies and key ways use can network your business effectively. As I was browsing through the website, it sort of like a facebook for businesses. You can network with others in your profession and discuss the trials/tribulations that you face each and every day. I thought the website though was very busy and it was a little distracting, but if your ADHD then it should be the perfect site for you.
I could see this website being useful in a public library, but not in a school setting.

Thing 5
In reading these articles, it really opened up my eyes on how relevant technology is to our students of the future. School 2.0 means that we as educators must bring our students up to par with the latest technological advances such as pod casting, video conferencing, and other neat gadgets that will one day replace the world as we know it. Many people already read the newspaper, look up words (dictionary), take classes on the computer.
We as educators must change our way of thinking when it comes to technology. numerous teachers are afraid to use technology, but that fear is gong to have to jump out the window because it is taking over and the students only deserve the best.
Technology is revamping the culture of the world and education is no exception to the rule. It can provide vital information to the students. We as the educators must ensure that the information is relevant to the standards that we teach. This technology is a helpful tool and we must use it accordingly.

Blog spot can really help bring a community together especially a educational community!! There are numerous ways I could use this blog spot in my classroom and in my profession. From reflecting on my teaching experiences to allowing students to view homework assignments for weeks at a time!
If I were to use a blog spot in my first grade class, I would use it mostly with my parents. I would post pictures of various activities that we have done in the class. I would have various websites for the the parents to use at home to help enhance their child's learning. I would also post any current new that the school has coming up and I would entertain any educational questions that parents may have. I would give them a certain time each week where we could blog with each other and make this an interactive tool for all parents. Just in case they all have the same concern.
Technology is really taking off and it is helping our students close the gap of achievement with students around the world. I want to be a part of this process and I know I am taking the appropriate steps to help them achieve this goal!

In creating the avatar, it was a bit frustrating at first. I was seriously trying to make a bit more difficult than it really was. With a little patience and some serious focusing, I was able to get my avatar on my blog. (The actual blog its was really easy to make.)
Since it was my first blogspot and I really didn't know what to do, I decided to name the page after me. What better way to name it!!
My avatar seems to fit my personality because I love going to big cities and dressing up going out on the town.

Thing 1
I am really enjoying this new technology phase of my life. I am very intimidated by learning this new technology as well, but myself and I have come to terms with each other-take it one day at a time. Embrace the new journeys and take every obstacle as a challenge to overcome.
As I watched the video 7 1/2 Habits of Highly Successful Lifelong Learners, I began to reflect on my life and how I can make myself an effective learner as well. What I believe was the most challenging habit for me is to view problems as challenges. Now I'm not saying that I give easily on difficult task, but if there are "too many bumps in the road" I sometimes stray away from the situation. As previously stated though, myself and I have come to an agreement-take it one day at a time.
The habit that I found the easiest for me to adapt to was to have the confidence in myself to become and remain an effective lifelong learner. I have set some really high standards for myself. I am a woman with many irons in the fire, but through it all; I will survive any and everything that comes my way.
